Entire road flooded in front of Longthorpe Primary
Reported via mobile in the Flooded road category anonymously at 18:38, Friday 9 July 2021
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2853547.
Flooding - possibly due to a blocked drain or perhaps no drain for all the surface water..
In light rain, the road forms a large puddle but in a thunderstorm like today the road has filed with water and up to the pavements and grass verges.
Cars driving through the flood have wate spraying 10' above the road and over pavements on either side of the road.
Thanks for making your report.
It will be passed on to the relevant department. We will endeavour to provide you with an update within 10 working days.

State changed to: Investigating

We have inspected all gullies along this section of carriageway there was a few leaves sitting on top of a couple of gullies but nothing to prevent the flow of surface water, all gully pots were clear and the water level down below the outlet pot. This simply would have been a temporary overload of the Anglian Water surface water sewer preventing our gullies from discharging into their system, however once the rain stopped the drainage network would empty enabling the road to drain down.
State changed to: No further action
