Overgrown trees blocking light and too near house
Reported via desktop in the Overgrown trees category anonymously at 08:43, Mon 24 May 2021
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2744876.
Two of my back garden fences at 19 Kingsbridge Court back on to council land and your trees are blocking out far too much light. One very high tree in the photo is likely to be too near the house and I am worried about that causing damage to my house foundations and possible subsidence could occur as it did next door recently. The trees add privacy so do not remove altogether but it all needs pruning.Thankyou

Thanks for your enquiry regarding a council-owned tree.
In accordance with the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028, a qualified tree surveyor has visited the site, assessed your request and concluded that there is no need to undertake tree works.
We don't prune or remove council-owned trees because they are considered too big or too tall unless it is deemed to be dangerous.
All council-owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. We also carry out maintenance work if it's needed.
For further information please read the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028
I trust this answers your enquiry, however, should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact Aragon Direct Services.
