Trees damaging fence

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2723196.

Trees growing in the rear of the Southfields Community Centre along the boundary with number 158 are causing damage to the fencing. Could you please cut them back to avoid further damage to the fencing.

  • Thank you for your enquiry regarding the tree which is overhanging your garden. Unfortunately at the present time there are no identifiable arboricultural reasons to justify carrying out any works.

    You do have a right to prune the branch back to the boundary of your property; however we would recommend that you use the services of a suitably qualified and insured tree surgeon to carry out this work.

    If the trees are in a Conservation Area &/or have Tree Preservation Orders you will need to make an application for permission to carry out any works. Information on applications can be found on the Peterborough City Council's website.
