Good morning! I would like to register my concern at the temporary speed limit on the Frank Perkins Parkway in Peterborough which has been in place now for approx 4 weeks. From the Eye Roundabout onwards it is a mixture of 50 and 40mph right up to the Stanground slip road. There are no obvious roadworks but I can see that the central reservation is being repaired. The issue is this: Trying to stick to the 40mph speed limit is almost impossible on this stretch of road. I have tried and it is horrifically frightening. The vast majority of drivers who are on the parkway at around 8am and 4pm are most definitely not willing to drive at 40mph. This morning I was beeped at, sworn at and basically bullied by other drivers into going faster for them! I am not easily intimidated but when you have a 44 tonne articulated lorry basically up your backside flashing its lights…it is hard not to be extremely worried!!! There are no speed cameras in place to encourage drivers to stick to the temporary speed limits and so this is common place. I am extremely concerned that this is an accident waiting to happen and may result in fatalities. Please could you review this immediately and take some steps to alleviate the anxiety many drivers are facing when they try to adhere to your speed limit! Kind regards
