Overflowing Ditch
Reported via desktop in the Other public drainage issue category anonymously at 11:35, Friday 12 March 2021
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2603702.
Blocked ditch. Mr Mears called a few weeks ago to report this issue and called back today to say the ditch is still flooded. From other reports i can see an access point for jetting has been installed but Mr Mears said this has not resolved the issue. This was previously reported under ref 2552077

Unfortunately the pipe system downstream of the ditch is a small perforated pipe, under normal ground conditions the water from this ditch would convey along this pipe to its outfall in Goldhay Way, with the pipe being perforated the surface water would also dissipate out along its travels. With December being the 3rd wettest on record ground saturation was paramount and this along with the head of water trying to enter this small pipe was simply to great thus overland flows are implemented. We are looking at installing another manhole access point closer to Goldway Way so as we can access the pipe from either direction to ensure there is no silt build ups etc.
State changed to: No further action
