Blocked underground drain causing a flood

There is a blocked drain that is causing a flood down the road from Home Farm to Stamford Road. The road is being washed away at the sides, there is gravel being deposited onto the road and road is flooded at the junction with Stamford Road

  • The Manhole cover that is located adjacent to Foresters House takes private water from Home Farm an it was this manhole that was surcharging, the highway drainage system commences near to the junction of Church Walk, this said we investigated this concern and the system was simply overloaded with saturated ground water due to the unprecedented weather once ground conditions improved the system drained down and the surcharging stopped.
