Dear Sir or Madam
Re: Council’s Tree at Public Playground / Skate Park at Walton, Peterborough and our property at 12 Luddington Road, Walton, Peterborough PE4 6HH
We write as a matter of urgency following a report from our tenant that one of your trees came down on Christmas Eve last year across the rear boundary fence of the above property, crashing into our garden (see attached photos).
I have checked our Title Deeds on ownership and visited the site and it is very clear and evident from my visit that this tree is the property of the owner of the recreation ground. I assume also that the chain link fencing is the responsibility of the owner of the recreation ground too.
My tenant is extremely concerned for his security and safety as there is now open access to the rear of the property for anyone to intrude.
I am happy to meet somebody on site as a matter of priority to smoothly and quickly agree a way forward and so I am able to give my tenant some assurance that the matter is in hand. Could somebody please telephone me as a matter of urgency on 07939 527915. If for any reason I do not pick up the telephone then please leave a voicemail giving the name and contact number of the person dealing with this matter.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully Henry Wells MRICS

Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.
A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.
Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.
For further information please read the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028
