Water run off from planted areas flooding

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2446396.

Run off from the heavy rain all day yesterday chas caused the path to flood all the way along and into the garden. It was a lot deeper than this last night abd was covering part of the grass and lapping just below the step in the garden, About 2.5 inches was the depth

  • Due to the unprecedented rainfall the surface water systems reached capacity in various locations and caused isolated of standing water due to the systems surcharging, additionally ground saturation occurs whereby the vegetated ground can absorb no more water thus areas become flooded, unfortunately during these events as in other parts of the county its a case of letting nature due its job and let the ground absorb the water once the rain stops.
