Dangerous Parking and Ridiculous Speeding!
Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 17:32, Wed 2 December 2020
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2415347.
On Second Drove Industrial Estate. Peterborough there are a high number of vehicle repair, mot and service stations, all of which engage in parking their excess vehicles on corners blocking road views of coming traffic or pedestrians, each unit is allocated 3 spaces, the vehicle repair businesses are using spaces meant for customers creating a knock on effect to all other businesses, they are parking vehicles in the middle of the streets, at the end of the roads blocking view, on the grass verges, in other businesses parking spaces and blocking access down roads for extended periods of time. Emergency vehicles would not have access when they leave trucks, cars, vans just dumped in the middle of the road or at the corners where you struggle to get by them. There are even more vehicle repair businesses setting up on the industrial estate at Second Drove and it's ludicrous because it's going to create an even greater problem with nuisance parking, prolonged dumping of vehicles waiting to be repaired by the garages there already. The speeding is totally out of hand, there are a couple of the vehicle repair businesses that test their cars by speeding around and around the estate, on several occasions they have run into the large stone bollards as they almost lost control by speeding around the corner, one very nearly ended up going through the shop front of another business recently. It's a death waiting to happen! With all the garages down on the estate there is a clear possibility that one day one of those garages may need the emergency services and if the parking isn't sorted out soon there's no way an ambulance or fire engine could be guaranteed access. The parking and the speeding need addressing before someone gets mown down or someone desperately needs an ambulance or fire services and they can't get to them. The Management Company have been advised but no solution. There is an accident just waiting to happen!
