Too many grey squirrels

Hi, There are very many grey squirrels in the bit of woodland by Longthorpe House Mews. They seem to be particularly active this time of year. Whilst they may be cute initially, they are actually vermine and cause damage to fences and gardens. My concern is that they are getting brave and getting very close to houses. I know they have been known to get into attics, where they can cause all sorts of problems including chewing up pipes. Are they any plans in place to control their population?
