Tree Planting
Reported via desktop in the Request for tree to be planted category anonymously at 20:45, Sun 15 November 2020
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2389010.
Hi I requested for trees to be planted along mayors walk, however after inspection the request was turned down due to insufficient footpath. I am very disappointed in this as along Midland road they are planted on the road where you loose some car parking spaces, due to close proximity to the centre this would not be an issue. So I am rerequesting for someone to look into planting along the road like Midland road.

Where possible we are always supportive of planting trees but in the case of planting street trees we are wholly reliant upon having the appropriate infrastructure in place in which to plant into. For example having tree pits in the pavement and along Mayors Walk, we are not aware of any redundant tree pits.
To create any new planting areas in the same style as Midland road would have to be in conjunction with new investment in the highways infrastructure. This does not sit with Aragon and therefore we cannot comment on the feasibility of this as it would involve fairly significant investment.
However, we will ensure your request for planting more trees is forwarded to the relevant department for their review.
