Rats

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2359014.
To whom it may concern,
I contacted the PCC helpline last week regarding a number of rats spotted in Newborough and was asked to send pictures and possible further information so that this could be escalated to the correct department if necessary.
The site location on Gunton’s Road, Newborough was visited by a local councillor and it appears that the rats are frequenting the field containing the horses probably due to horse feed etc. There are what appears to be three ‘storm drains’ entrances running under the pavement directly opposite field (horses) in Gunton’s Road. Attached photos give better idea. A number of rats are seen going into middle drain.
Please can you advise if this could be remedied, or if the village could be visited for inspection?
Thank you very much.

Good afternoon, Unfortunately we have no control on the routes rats choose to utilise, these kerb offletts holes are simply that a means for rats to access the land where the source of the concern is and that is "a food source" Rats can travel miles along pipes, sewers, open water ditches entering and exiting any opening. To control the rats at this location then the food source requires to be inaccessible and or this is the point where traps should be set.
State changed to: No further action
