Overhanging Branches

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2337719.
There has been what looks like deliberate damage to a large branch from a tree that stands in a flower bed outside the location marked on the map. The branch is around 8ft and is partially across the footpath, The branch is hanging off the flower bed but has been severed from the tree itself. This is a tripping hazard as it's partially overhanging the public footpath, and is at child height.

Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.
A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.
Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.

The works recommended from the inspection have been approved and we are in the process of issuing a work order to our contractor.
