Car sized space enquiry

Reported via desktop in the Other public road issue category anonymously at 09:31, Tuesday 6 October 2020

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2327554.

Copeland, South Bretton, PE3 6YJ, is due to have it's road resurfaced. It has been marked up in preparation. Very pleased about this as its so bumpy and uneven. I wanted to ask if the road markings, when re-instated, can be amended? We seem to have two single car sized spaces where double yellow lines were due to be put down originally, but never were. One is outside my house (51) and the other is further up the road between number 52 and the entrance to Artis Court (other side of the road). My request/suggestion would be to remove the car sized space from outside my house, but to then increase the size of the other car sized space further up the road - creating space for two or three cars (or more). The one space outside my house is right on top of my dropped kerb so when a car is parked there it impedes my vision when I reverse off my drive. I have to reverse off my drive so if a car is parked in that space I have to back right up to (and over) the footpath / dropped kerb servicing 47-50 Copeland shared drive in order to get past any parked vehicle. Whilst I'm allowed to do this, it has surprised a few cyclists using the path that cuts through the trees - it cuts through exactly where I'm reversing - exactly where the dropped kerb for 47-50 Copeland shared drive is. The space further up the road is a safer place for cars to be parked as it's not on top of where cyclists / pedestrians cut through. Its just a suggestion and an improvement. Having a space directly outside my house is great for my visitors but I would rather have less concerns about knocking a cyclist over.
