Pavement trip hazard
Reported in the Public footpath or cyclepath category anonymously at 08:42, Tue 29 September 2020
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2316344.
I recently reported the problem of the damage to the pavement surface by the roots of a large cherry tree outside our house at 38 Main Street. This has been worsening in recent years. I was very impressed at the speed and workmanship of the repair team who repaired the surface crack. However, the problem has not gone away. The team leader also expressed his concern about the direction of travel of the root. It is still a health and safety matter. The tarmac pavement is still raised considerably over the route of the tree root and although the repair has weather proofed the pavement, the trip hazard is still present due to the rise in level. I have ascertained that the tree is owned by Ailsworth Parish Council and have requested their investigation into the potential damage to our property. The City Council's contact desk has advised me that I am unable to speak to Aragon's tree service team but that a message has been forwarded. I would appreciate urgent action over this matter. Although the danger to life and limb is slightly less than it was, it is still a serious concern.
