Broken fence, dangerous dog

Reported in the Safety fence or barrier category anonymously at 20:04, Monday 28 September 2020

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2316025.

Number 63 fence has broken so that their aggressive dog can almost get out. Today while walking through, I have had to pick my very scared dog up, as the large dog has stuck his head and shoulders through the fence and aggressively barked at myself and my dog. The owner was sat in the garden but did not do anything to stop the dog and just shouted the dog's name. This has happened in the past and the fence was fixed but has now happened again. It has been broken for about a week now. There needs to be either a stronger fence or a wall as it seems to be a recurrent problem and the dog is clearly dangerous. I would hate for the dog to attack anyone elses dog or a human.

  • Please be advised that this is not a Highway issue. I have also checked with another team and been advised that as the property is owner occupied, PCC have no enforcement powers and this would be considered a civil matter.

State changed to: not the council's responsibility
