Overhanging oak tree

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2313150.

Oak tree is in desperate need of crown reducing and branches removing as it is overhanging garden by at least two thirds thereby reducing all light during parts of the day. In high winds constantly dealing with large pieces of debris and branches which if they hit property or people will cause injury to person/severe damage to property. Other trees close by of same variety and age have caused damage already. Accident waiting to happen

    A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has been unable to recommend any further action on this occasion.

    Please be aware that Aragon Direct Services manages the Council owned trees in accordance with the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.

    Continued management of all of our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one to five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.

    Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.

    A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.
