Additional Speed signs Request

Reported in the Traffic sign category anonymously at 14:29, Fri 25 September 2020

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2311598.

The current speed limit on Lincoln Road/Bourges Boulevard between the Maskew Avenue and Mountsteven Road roundabouts (both ways), is my enquiry. Can I suggest it needs a new speed limit sign and also more 30 mph along the route, not just a 30 sign at the beginning and a 40 at the end, because not all drivers appear to be aware it has changed and are still driving at 40. Will you be investing in erecting more signs to facilitate a more visual reminder for all motor vehicles using that stretch of road and stop the frustration of drivers thinking other users are driving too slow?

  • Please accept our apologies for the late reply. This was due to admin issues. The sign design meets all the current statutory and regulatory guidance on sign spacings and locations. Repeater signs are not permitted in a 30mph zone and so only the terminal signs at each end of the restriction are present. The project has been subject to a thorough Safety Audit process (including the speed limit reduction).

State changed to: No further action
