At the bottom of this section is your response to the issue raised with you by both Anglian water and myself . These are my comments: Having experienced horrific flooding to my property. I strongly challenge the comment that my substantial flooding was ' merely due' to the rainfall. I totally agree that the amount of rainfall was unprecedented , however the examination performed by Anglian water demonstrated quite clearly that the outlet was blocked significantly and was the cause of the flooding so my flooding was not caused 'merely' by the amount of rain and I will expect this drainage channel to be maintained in the way it was supposed to be to ensure that should we have a significant rainfall again that you have reduced the risk of my property flooding. As you are now aware of the issue and the risk I believe you are responsible for maintaining the channel appropriately. ' New updates on Blocked drain - risk of flooding Good afternoon, We have passed on this requested for vegetation clearance to our Landscape management contractor Aragon. We have asked for an early start to ensure the Anglian Water outlet is clear. With this in mind the flooding you unfortunately experienced was merely due to the intense rainfall with 41.2mm of rain falling. Therefore there still could be a risk of flooding even with all systems cleansed if a rainfall event of the measurement reoccurred.

Hi Just to confirm this report has been sent to Aragon with a requested to undertake vegetation clearance works, if not done so already.
The statement with regards to rainfall data, was more to the point that the amount of water that fell on the 16th August far exceeded that to which the gullies and pipe sewers were designed to take, so it was just advice that even with a pristine drainage system in place, a rainfall event of tis nature again "May" result in the drainage system reaching capacity quickly.
