Reported in the Overhanging Trees category by Nilesh kuchhadia at 09:59, Sat 12 September 2020
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2290805.
Property address is 60 Weatherthorn, Peterborough, pe2 5nd. The property is currently rented and had a complaint about the risk of trees that are way to close to our border. Just shocked to see this and these should have been maintained over years but has been untouched. They have damaged all our fences at the front. We had rear fences replaced few years ago which are now again being damaged. The branches are way into our air space. We are concerned that the roots could end up damaging our property as they are now getting close to property and is a big concern. You can see from pictures that these have never been maintained by council and is something that requires immediate attention to stop any further damage to my property.
Thanks for your enquiry regarding a council-owned tree.
Your enquiry has been allocated to one of our qualified tree surveyors who will carry out an inspection and provide an update within 20 working days.

Trees in the shelterbelt to the side of the property have been managed over the years. They have been inspected regularly for health and safety and defective trees have been removed. These were last inspected in March 2020
We maintain a 1 to 2m clear strip alongside property boundaries and works will be undertaken this winter to clear branches away from fences and other structures.
Please note that it is not Council policy to remove other overhanging branches which are not interfering with structures. You have the right to cut any overhang back to the property boundary however we recommend the use of a fully qualified and insured Tree Surgeon
State changed to: No further action
