Other public road problem

Reported in the Other public road issue category anonymously at 13:17, Tuesday 8 September 2020

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2284409.

Weight restriction & speeding, I assume the weight restriction has been removed from our road as the amount of large lorries that come down here is every increasing and they do not go down Newark Road, Eddie Stobart's, Chilton Chilled, Robsons, Bardon Aggregrates, Tesco, Mick George to name only a few. There are an awful lot of hevy vehicle at night after 11pm. The speeding is getting worse, at the beginning of lockdown there were certain cars, white bmw J777, black audi driving as fast as they could down the road. A speed camera would be good as I believe you could catch at least 20 vehicles an hour between 6.30am - 8.30am and then again at lunchtime and after 6.30pm. I had a Mercedes driver yesterday almost crash into me as I waited to turn in my drive as he was going that fast from Sainsburys he came over onto my side of the road and then had to break because the car in front of him was adhering to the speed limit. I know the speed sign is covered up going towards TC Harrisons but the sign of the other side is visible. I would love somebody to come, sit down and watch the traffic for maybe an hour at a time, then you could see what it is like. I would provide drink and biscuits. Thank you for listening to my rave but the situation is getting worse. Working from home it has just shown how much worse it has become, my neighbour across the road said she would complain as well.
