Tree roots ruined my lawn and close drain

Reported in the Problem with tree roots category anonymously at 22:05, Sunday 6 September 2020

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2281498.

Tree roots from adjacent trees are ruing my lawn and must be very close to drains. The trees themselves stop light from getting into my garden which again ruins lawn. They are too big and too close to my boundary. Please act before I am forced to seek legal advice. Mr Adrian Gretton.

  • Works recommended

Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.

A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.

Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.
