Drains still overflowing causing flooding to prope

Reported in the Blocked drainage gully category anonymously at 10:51, Wednesday 26 August 2020

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2264160.

Husband has tried to use rods to clear both drains and nearly got hit twice by cars! Drains are blocked and need council rodding to clear the mud from them for the water to flow into ditch and not overflow over drive and path to front door. Continuous problem here.

  • I understand some works have been carried out to the gullies and the receiving ditch, we will programme in a high pressure jetting tanker to carry out the necessary jetting works to restore free flow of water under normal rainfall conditions.

  • We have attended site today with a high pressure jet vac and root cutting tanker. We have successfully cleared the gully lateral pipes and removed some roots within this pipe, we undertook a flow test and all water dispersed as quick as we were pouring it into the gully, i did know on your door in hope that you were there to view this for you own eyes. We have also cleansed the aco drain across the drive and jetted the pipe, the pipe in the small ditch is slightly buried and this could benefit a small channel dug to enable free flow to the sleeper headwall. Lastly we jetting the pipe from this small ditch over the road to the receiving larger ditch and gain this was left clear and free flowing. Therefore on our departure the complete system was left free flowing with no restrictions.
