Not enough drains

Reported in the Flooded road category anonymously at 09:33, Tue 25 August 2020

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2262041.

REFERENCE 2249369, Good morning, I reported my road continually flooding especially with heavy rain. Please could I add to the report that I’ve looked at the drain situation in the road and can confirm as Anglian Water have told me that there are not enough drains. There is a drain outside 12 Ayres Drive and the next one is at 34 Ayres Drive. The water has no where to go but to flood our properties. Unfortunately there are 7 houses with vulnerable elderly people all well over 70 along this stretch including myself . At the moment it is raining and the water is just sitting there. I have had to purchase sand bags but this will obviously make it worse for my neighbours because there will be more water being diverted to their properties . Further down the road there are ample drains ie 2 outside no 50, 1 outside no 56 and 1 outside no 57. Please could come and see as it’s such a worry for us. Regards Mrs Kathleen Schlewitz
