The woodland area is full of rubbish and vermin

Reported in the Litter or flytipping in a woodland category anonymously at 15:31, Monday 3 August 2020

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2228867.

The wooded area along the Orton Parkway, backing onto Balintore Rise (house numbers 22-30) is badly overgrown and full of various flytipping. There is also a severe rat problem, with several nests being discovered. The rats are digging under fences and entering the gardens of the surrounding houses which is an extreme health hazard, as there are young children residing. The residents are all aware that they should not feed the birds or leave food or bins accessible. A pest control company has checked that the problem is not originating from the surrounding houses. The nests of rats are in the wooded area which is owned by the council.
