Hello, My partner has recently moved into a new dwelling, 58 Somerville contained with a block numbered 56-61. As I work for a local housing association I have been asked by my partner to make enquirers and approached by other residents to try and rectify the issue. As per the attached photographs there is a very dangerous safety issue with very uneven paving slabs protruding from the ground the highest point being around 3 inches, on the approach to the block which from close inspection would seem to be the cause of tree roots and time that has lapsed. I myself tripped and had fallen over this paving slab causing bruising to my toe (I have not provided a picture but is available), and it is an issue we would like rectified, which hopefully falls within your jurisdiction. There is also an issue with no lighting that is operational to the outside of the block or inside although there are light fittings so I suspect it may be a replacement bulb or maybe a wiring fault which is very dangerous when trying to navigate in the dark and coupled with the paving slabs issue this is very contentious. I would be grateful if you could look into this matter and try and rectify the issues or advise who is responsible for this please? I have taken the time to contact the management company ‘Firstport’ who seem to manage the block but I am not sure if their maintenance contract extends to the lighting both inside and out as I await their response. I look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks,
