Foliage from trees harbouring rats
Reported in the Growth at the bottom of trees/regrowth category anonymously at 15:59, Mon 20 July 2020
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2208838.
A few gardens in Orton Southgate, mainly Balintore Rise have voiced issues of rats digging in to their gardens from the wooded area that backs on to the dual carriageway, ours included. We've all had to remove our bird feeders to combat this but they are still coming in. Putting poison down isn't an option due ours and other cats/wildlife in the area
I've asked around the affected area of Balintore Rise, Orton Southgate and it seems to stretch along numerous gardens that back onto the fence line that backs onto the carriageway. A couple of years ago the trees were cut down along the fence line but were left. The ivy has now overgrown over the debris and has formed a shelter for vermin and they are digging into people's gardens. If this was all cleared I believe it would be a big help and scare the rats away from properties.

The shelterbelt diredctly to the rear of 26 Balintore Rise is not Peterborough City Council land, responsibility still lies with the Developer who we believe is Persimmon so you would need to contact them regarding this enquiry
