Tree should have been removed in 2018
Reported in the Tree is considered to be causing damage category anonymously at 19:10, Fri 26 June 2020
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2174328.
Please see below email received from John Wilcockson in Apr 2018. When the work was done the tree was only cut back and not removed. I have attached a photo of the tree as it is currently. As you can see it has grown a lot in 2 years so the problem with the roots still exists. Myself and my husband has chased the removal several times. Could you please arrange for the tree to be removed as agreed and let me know when this will be done.
Thank you
Good morning Mr Aves, The tree has been identified for removal and as such, the works should be completed by the end of June. I'm afraid it cannot be prioritised as there are no immediate health and safety concerns. For your information in relation to any proposed footings, the tree is a White Willow. Works recommended
Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.
A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.
Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.
