Temporary traffic lights opposite the bus station

Reported in the Temporary category anonymously at 08:29, Friday 26 June 2020

Hello,

We have to deal with numerous problems since you have placed the temporary lights at Westgate because of the Queensgate and bus station alteration. The traffic lights are just in front of the main entrance of the building and unfortunately our window is at the front side of the building too. Every 20 minutes a bus will stop at the traffic light and the noise is unbelievable. I am sure that something similar should have been included in the relevant risk assessment. Can you please reconsider the traffic management of the street and reposition the temporary traffic lights? As you know many people work from home for the time being and probably for the near future. We cant even attend a meeting in piece or concentrate properly to our work. The relocation is just a case of a few metres. Our mental health is affected as we can no longer cope up with the noise not to mention all the fumes of the buses and the cars. I understand the need to control the traffic especially under the renovation period but that has caused some problems to the area. Furthermore it is right in front of the parking exit and when the light is red there is no space to get out. I am sure that there is a procedure in order to change this but I am also sure that the works will take place for one more year at least. I kindly ask to consider my request and our well being
