Residential Safety

Reported in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 13:45, Tuesday 2 June 2020

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2139173.

I wish to bring to your attention the fact that there is an abandoned vehicle in the narrow part of the short access road (cul-de-sac) that leads into the end of the road here in Bardney, O.G. This black Citroen has been left for well over a week and it appears dumped/abandoned. This part of the Estate has a very busy traffic flow, delivery lorries, a contract landscape gardener etc, who needs free access to and from his home, and a housing agent who has regular meetings and has many vehicles coming and going. Over the past years vehicles have parked on the short pavemented area alongside No's 36 and 37 causing residents to have to walk in the road. Safety problem as many are very elderly. Damage has been caused to the pavement necessitating frequent repair or replacement whilst the shrubbery opposite has been over-ridden damaging plants that had been put in in an attempt to enhance the area similar to that on the other side of the Estate Requests for the yellow lines to be extended from the entrance area to the end of No. 36 have been ignored. In view of this problem now becoming very serious with residents having to walk in the road it is requested that this matter be treated as urgent. A further problem with the parking in this narrow stretch of road is the very large servicing lorries(refuse and recycling) having to squeeze past these parked cars.
