Tree roots blocking drainage

Reported in the Other public drainage issue category anonymously at 19:00, Wed 6 May 2020

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2107930.

The drain in front of our house got blocked so contacted British Gas and they sent out Dyno to sort out the blockage tonight dated 06-05-20. It turned out to be a tree root that has gone into the drain system and when toilets are flushed the tissue was building up round the root causing this blockage and overspill. This job was only about 10minutes but has still put us out of pocket when the tree is council property. If this is happening to us, what other drains around here are going to be affected. Also tree roots (even if cut) will continue to grow.
