Why are the council cutting trees at nesting time.

Why are the council cutting trees in the coppice behind Burswood when the birds are nesting. We are all being asked to plant more trees but Peterborough council just keeps cutting them down ridiculous situation.

  • Our Tree Surveyor explained that we were removing 2 large poplars in the shelterbelt because of concerns about health & safety and also potential property damage. He also said we undertook birds nesting checks. No unnecessary works were undertaken during birds nesting season.
    We have no plans for any other works in the shelterbelt this summer.
