(Continuation from report 2098072) Overhaning bran

Reported in the Tree debris (droppings, sap or seeds) category anonymously at 10:15, Monday 27 April 2020

Sent to Peterborough City Council 4 minutes later. Council ref: 2098181.

To continue from report 2098072 - I have reported this numerous times and have had once a branch permanently removed by the council but still had the problems but have been spending money washing my car. Now due to Covid 19 lockdown I am unable to get car washed and leaving the bird dropping will damage my car which I will not accept. Please could we cut the over hanging branches as I am a key worker and need to get into work everyday. Please call me if you need further details. I would love it if the whole tree could be removed as this would allow more sunlight to the house and also the tree has no leafs on it compared to the others so seems that its dead or dying. Branches to occasionally fall on the car but luckily has never damaged the car.

Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.

Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. • Thanks for your enquiry regarding a council-owned tree.

In accordance with the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028, a qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and concluded that there is no need to undertake tree works.

We don't prune or remove a council-owned tree to remove or reduce blossom, tree sap, honeydew or remove fallen leaves and blossom from private land. Tree sap or honeydew are a seasonal problem. When we plant new trees, we try to choose those that are less likely to cause this problem. You can remove tree sap or honeydew from your car using warm soapy water. We regularly sweep leaves and blossom from our parks, roads, and footpaths or cycle paths that run alongside them.

All council-owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. We also carry out maintenance work if it's needed.
