Re planting of trees Eyrescroft
Reported in the Request for tree to be planted category anonymously at 14:46, Mon 23 March 2020
Sent to Peterborough City Council 4 minutes later. Council ref: 2071465.
Please could you let me know if you are going to plant any trees or shrubs at the back or 44 to 50 Eyrescroft. As you have done to the rest of the areas that have been cut back all over. You have planted over 40 by the footpath at the end Of number 32 Eyrescroft which I think have been planted in the wrong place as under the ground there is a thick plastic sheeting that was put there some years ago to stop any trees growing their because of subsidence that they caused to number 32. Thank you.

We will be planting along the rear of 44- 50 Eyerscroft. Unfortunately due to the exceptionally wet winter our contractors have been unable to fell one remaining tree that requires the use of a specialist platform to access the site.
Once this has taken place the remaining area will be planted up in the same style of low water demanding woodland edge shrub species as has been planted alongside 32 Eyrescroft. These species have been carefully choosen to not impact on surrounding structures as they mature.
A root barrier was installed along the woodland edge which works as a vertical barrier.
In light of the current status with Coronavirus we will unfortunately be unable to undertake planting this spring and will be looking to complete the work once the new planting season begins in the autumn.
State changed to: No further action
