Traffic light timings
Reported in the Permanent category anonymously at 19:45, Fri 8 November 2019
Sent to Peterborough City Council 4 minutes later. Council ref: 1838493.
The timings of the lights at this junction are set to disadvantage those on eastfield road. From 5pm onwards the traffic tails backfrom the traffic lights at the parkway junction (Sainsbury’s) to this junction. The tailed back traffic moves forward at the same time as the light from Newark avenue turn green. I have counted and on average 20 cars are able to pass through the lights on green from Newark Avenue. Then when the lights turn green for the traffic in Eastfield road often only one or two cars are able to pass through due to the queued traffic ahead. Therefore traffic is waiting a significantly longer time on Eastfield Road than on Newark Avenue to pass through this junction. Can the timings of the lights at this junction and the parkway junction be better sequenced so as to allow traffic to flow better along Eastfield road.
