Barbed wire on 4ft fence. Near public pathway
Reported via mobile in the Public right of way - problem with access or damage category anonymously at 20:36, Friday 2 October 2026
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 10185843.
The barbed wire has been there for 6 months and not only is it close to the boundary of another garden next door but now also the public pathway
The wire is positioned at the front fence approximetly a foot from the boundary, and four feet off the ground.
Because of its placement and height, it poses a safety hazard to me, my dad and any guests we may have including my autistic niece i am concerned for not only my own safety but theirs as well.
Under Section 164 of the Highways Act 1980, barbed wire on land adjoining a public highway or footpath that creates a danger to users can be required to be removed or made safe.
Could you please inspect the site and advise on what steps can be taken or issued to ensure the boundary is made safe for the public?
This is located at 718 lincoln road. I have previously told the police and they told the person to take it down but they just put more up. I also contacted the council via email as well. Please do something i am worried about public safety it has previously harmed me as well. If you could keep me updated on what you will do that would be appreciated
