Road and driveway collapsing
Reported via mobile in the Public right of way - problem with access or damage category anonymously at 10:41, Sunday 13 September 2026
Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 10090057.
The entrance to Kingsline Close and our driveway sits over a reinforced waterway. The ground either side of this reinforcement is collapsing away causing several issues. PCC have repaired our driveway entrance/pavement three times in the past 6 years and it has dropped exponentially again. The drop has caused the manholes in our driveway to become exposed and cracked and I almost went down one with my car. Anglia water have repaired them once and the repair is cracking again 12 months later. The pavements that go over the waterway are also cracking and dropping dangerously. On one side the pavement and kerb stones are now lower than the road and the pavement at the entrance now slopes away. I am a wheelchair user and am unable to use that part of the pavement causing me to have to use the road which is dangerous for me. We had our driveway levelled in 2020 so the dropping of the ground below is extremely evident in that time frame. It was identified that the ground under the drop kerb entrance to our driveway is hollow which was the first attempt at repair.
