Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 10065466.
Dear Sir or Madame, I am writing regarding council report 10064610.Larklands 25.
The tree has grown tall, and some of its lower branches now overhang our property and driveway.
I want to be clear that we are very fond of this tree and are not asking for it to be removed or heavily reduced.
We are conscious that overhanging or heavy branches can pose a risk, particularly in strong winds, and we would like the council to assess and carry out appropriate trimming as a precaution.
Our request is specifically for the low-hanging and overhanging branches to be pruned back, both to reduce any risk to our property and to keep the driveway clear.
We would be grateful if any assessment considered pruning as the preferred outcome, rather than felling, unless there is a genuine and serious safety concern that could not otherwise be addressed.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.
Yours faithfully, Weronika

Works recommended
Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.
A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.
Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.
For further information please read the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028
