Services post behind presumed unauthorised fence Reported anonymously at 15:23, Tue 25 January 2022 The services post servicing many houses in this area has been enclosed behind a locked fence that as I understand has not been erected with the relevant licences and authorisation. The post sits on the grass verge (Highways maintained) in the area next to 33 The Village (t the right looking on the property), which has been incorporated behind the fence (as has the lamp post) and no allowance has been made should there be an issue with services (presumably the reason these things are located on public owned land). What happens if there is an issue with services to the many houses serviced? Many of us work at home and cannot cope without services or any significant delay. How are Highways being to address if there is an issue and is there an agreement with the land owner around 1) licence to use verge as part of enclosed area and 2) how services will be maintained in an emergency? I have written several times on this issue but no response from Highways and I see that the recommendation is to raise through this 'Report a problem' process. The fence is unsightly and does not respect the verge and 2) does not accommodate access to the services as required. We need assurance of 1) has a license been granted to use the verge (reference number please) and 2) how services will be assured if and when one of the many heavy duty vehicles accessing the site (diggers, large grabbers, cement lorries, breeze block deliveries) 'accidentally' knocks the pole, or there is another issue?
