Dangerous Overgrown Trees

Reported anonymously at 12:47, Sat 18 December 2021

The trees to the rear of 12-16 Nappier Place (Orton Wistow) are extremely high and a danger to the elderly residents who live in this independent living community. The trees are blocking natural sunlight into the properties and the overhanging branches which also lose cones are a danger in strong winds and as a trip hazard for residents with walking sticks or frames. Residents are needing to keep their lights on during the day to substitute for the lack of natural light entering their properties causing uanessacry expense and a waste of energy. As residents we were previously advised to contact our landlord (Accent Nene Housing) who advised us that these trees are the property and responsibility of the LA. This situation has been an issue for sometime and as residents we are upset and confused as to why this situation is still unsolved. We believe that this issue is a serious Health and Safety accident waiting to happen with regards to the falling debris from them.
