Vandalism to stonework on council adopted road Reported anonymously at 12:12, Tue 9 November 2021 This was first reported in mid September 2021 and it was stated that it was on private land. This is wrong as the road and bridge is an ‘adopted road’ and is maintained by the council as are the pavement and the surrounding glass areas. The council arrange to have the grass area close to the bridge cut on a regular basis so this is not private land. Since the first report further vandalism has occurred to the eastern side of the bridge. If this is not repaired promptly who ever is doing this will further damage the structure as the large stones can be used to further damage the Stonebridge which the road gets its name from.
