Blocked gully problem

Reported anonymously at 13:23, Wed 23 December 2020

This about drains in Werrington. Your contractors are in the PE4 area supposedly clearing the street drains - ie I think you call them rain water gullies that are on the side of roads and get blocked with leave, mess from roads. They put a blue dot on the gullies they have supposedly cleaned. In the close that I live in the gullies have not been cleaned - no blue dot. They are always missed by your contractors - probably 10 years since the last clean - that only happened because I spoke to the contractor. I have contacted you about this in previous years (probably in 2018). The relevant manager visited said he would arrange for it to be done but it never was. Ther are 2 gullies at the end of my close. City Fibre dug up the roads earlier this year and made sure plenty of waste went in the gullies. They are not blocked - yet, but we have had problems with sewers being blocked last year - different problem I know. I'm not impressed with the contractors. The big blockage on Southwell Avenue (near lampost PCC4) has been present for months - it blocks half the road. In the rest of Canonsfield, they were putting blue dots on gullies without doing anything.
